London Marathon

Just thought i would give you an updated on how our training, and fund raising is going with 1 month 9 days 10 hours to go!! Well thats what it says on theLondon Marathon website!!!!http://www.london-marathon.co.uk/
When we started our training many people who have done a marathon before passed comment about how boring the training is and how fed up we will be before its all finished. Well the good news is thats not been the case with us, we had so much company from our friends at Peterhead Jogscotland we havent had time to get bored, and it really has been a great help to us. On Saturday morning we did 14 miles even though we left from Catto Park at 9am their was still 5 of our jogscotland friends accompanying us. The route was broken down into an 8 miles and 6 miles, so on Saturday we jogged from Catto Park along Meethill Road out to Boddam around Boddam and back to Catto Park via Meethill Road. To say it was tough was an understatement all the way we had a head wind and i was glad when got to Boddam, it was great coming back with the wind at our backs which made it a lot easier. The second route was out the line, and i most confess i really enjoyed it, and it was great that Leigh was there to accompany us. I hadnt run the line for a along time and as i said i really enjoyed. As a result we have decided on Friday 3rd April to organise a 3, 6 and 10k up line for all the different groups so please keep that night free if possible. This week our long run on Saturday is a 16miles, and this week we have broken it down into a 6miles and 2 x 5miles if anyone want to join us!! Overall our training has been going well, and we looking forward to take our place in Marathon although i expect on the day we will both be rather nervous!!
Roselyn and i have been really touched how everyone has got behind our fundraising efforts, so far we have about £7000 in the bank in aid of Make A Wish which just remarkable. A lot people asked us when we start, how much we wanted to raise, and to be honest we hadnt a clue, however we are just thrilled with what we have raised with your help to date. Some of the donations have been really touching like a friend from Fraserburgh who is getting married soon. She decided instead of having favours at her wedding to put a cheque to Make A Wish, which was a wonderful gesture. Then there was the Fishermen Mission in Peterhead, even though its a charity and needs every penny to survive, they gave their Christmas Carol service collection to Make A Wish instead of keeping to themselves, and off course we will never forgot going to the Hexagon Boys Club and picking a cheque for £2000, you know me i am never lost for words but i was that day!!
Thanks to each and everyone of you for you encouragement, on the day when the gun goes to start the Marathon we wont just be running for ourselves, but for everyone of you who have supported us along the way!!
