Charity Weight Loss 2010/2011

We are really proud of our latest Charity Weight Loss Challenge Winners. Billy Lovie lost 3 stone 2ibs, Gavin Smith lost 2 stone 9ibs and Elaine Weir lost 1 stone 3ibs. The Peterhead jogscotland Charity Weight Loss Challenge lasts 20 weeks. All challengers donate £5 at the start of the challenge and this money goes to the winner’s nominated charity Billy this year chose McMillan Cancer Support to get the money. Since we started the Charity Weight Loss Challenge we have raised over £1300 for charity. One of the leaders does the weigh in every week, however it totally up to the participants how often they get weighed, some get weighed every week, and some once a month. All information is keep confidential, however every now and then information is given to the group (no names) on total weight loss and the biggest weigh loss to date, to encourage the participants to keep going. All we do is encourage our group to eat healthily, cut out the rubbish and get more active by following the jogscotland programme. We also take in an expert during 20 weeks to give them advice on healthy eating, other than its totally up to them to manage their own eating habits, but the results speak for themselves!! Our next Charity Weight Loss Challenge starts on Monday 17th January 2011, what better way to start the new year by join Peterhead Jogscotland and our Charity Weight Loss Challenge, and lose some weight whilst getting fit

The great video above highlights the first 1000s of the Around Britain Baton Challenge!! It was sent to me by Stu Prince the founder of it all!! On Saturday at 12.30pm 3rd July we pick up Barry the Baton from Gillian from Fraserburgh Jogscotland at Scotstown Beach and then head into Peterhead via the beach. This is a fantastic event to be part off to think that we/you are part of the First Ever Around Britain Baton Challenge!! Please join us for part or all the route, even if you want to just jog with us from the track down the West Road to Lido Carpark then that would be fantastic!! From the Lido Carpark we will then head up to Macdonalds along the byepass up past Score and out to Collieston via Cruden Parish Church crossing the small bridge (usually Newburgh Road)- we then take the coastal minor road to Collieston via Whinnyfold. We hope to pass Barry the Baton to the Metro Running Club at 4.45pm at Collieston Harbour. Times are approximate- however we hope have the baton at Catto Park at 1.00-1.30pm for all the kids who have taken part in the drawing Competition will each be given a go at taking Barry around the track before he goes on his travels again with Peterhead Jogscotland to Collieston. We hope to be at Cruden Parish Church between at 2.30pm-3pm - its approximate 6.5 miles to Collieston arriving at 4.30-4.45 pm. If you want to join us for that last leg, please arrange your own transport!! Simply meet us as Cruden Parish Carpark no later than 3.00pm we wont leave early without you ats a promise, but dont be late as we have to be in Collieston at 4.45pm at the latest!! If decide not run your are welcome to join us it Collieston at 4.45pm for the handover of Barry the Baton, we hope have a beach party and barbecue to celebrate.
