This is Ewan and James Report from Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships we are really proud of them both!!!
On the 9th of February, 2 runners representing Peterhead academy took part in the Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships at Kelvin Hall Glasgow. Ewan Calder and James Weir, both members of Peterhead Jog Scotland, had never competed in this event before but both enjoyed the experience. Ewan was very happy with his 3rd place out of an initial 20 competitors in the 400 metres. In order to get to the final Ewan qualified from his heat and then ran a personal best in the semi final. James found himself against a very strong field in the 1500 metres and came 10th,, narrowly missing out on his personal best.
Both boys would advise any other runners to take part in this event if given the chance and are grateful to all those concerned in giving them the opportunity to compete in such a prestigious event.
“We would like to thank Mr Mckay (Head Teacher at Peterhead Academy), Stephen Bruce (founder of Peterhead Jog Scotland), Jim Mundie (running coach) and Mr Cameron (PE Teacher) for taking us down to Glasgow. We would also like to thank Peterhead Academy for supporting us and giving us the opportunity to compete amongst the best athletes in Scotland.”

Baxter Lochness Marathon
Have you ever been to the Baxters Lochness Marathon and Festival of Running, if not i would highly recommend it. Last weekend 16 of us from Phd Jogscotland went up and we had a great weekend. We had runners taking part in the 5km, 10km and the Marathon. I took part in the Marathon along with Andy Davidson, Willie Thomson, Mark Strachan, Stuart Robertson and Margaret Birnie. The Lochness Marathon starts at Fort Augustus and takes along the shores of Lochness into the Inverness City Centre, I never seen "oor monster" alias Stuart Robertson till about 4 miles from Inverness and he took of like a bullet when he saw me, fortunetly i was able sneak past him with 2 mile to go again!! I finished in a pb of 3 hrs 46 mins and 55 secs so was delighted, to see all the photographs simply click here
